The More Than Strong book is a transformative learning experience designed to guide Black women in recognizing, processing, and overcoming workplace and race-based trauma. At its core, the course challenges the cultural myth that strength is synonymous with silence, overperformance, and self-sacrifice. Instead, it offers a roadmap for embracing vulnerability, emotional honesty, and self-compassion as authentic forms of power. Across its carefully structured modules, participants explore the multifaceted dimensions of trauma, reclaim their emotional and physical well-being, and develop strategies to navigate professional and personal spaces with confidence, clarity, and resilience.This book begins by helping participants understand how trauma manifests in the workplace from microaggressions and systemic bias to emotional suppression and burnout. Through guided reflection and experiential exercises, learners examine the cost of internalized narratives like “the strong Black woman,” exploring the psychological, emotional, and physical toll these expectations impose. By naming and processing these experiences, participants gain clarity on how survival mechanisms can both protect and limit them, providing a foundation for lasting transformation. Read more
